The aftermath...

Gosh, we only cooked dinner for ourselves this year. My family went to see my sister and Michael's family stayed in Shreveport and Michael was "on call" for the Navy so we had a quiet day at home. I seriously only just showered - yikes! BUT we wanted to fry a turkey. Gosh Michael is a trooper b/c that is a CHORE.
When I saw Michael walking through the house with this I have to admit I was a bit hesitant about the whole "frying thing" but Michael did a great job and he was just being extra prepared :)

Here are the buckets of lard post frying. My dogs really really really wanted to eat that up - yuck!



For dessert I made molten chocolate and carmel lava cakes. Michael said it was one of the best things he's ever eaten. Take a look:

If someone's interested just comment me and I'll type up the recipies. I used one for the cake and kind of adapted another one for the caramel filling.

Okay, I do realize this post was written almost a year ago but I just found your blog and am LOVING it, and saw this post and have GOT to have that recipe. They look INCREDIBLE!
