Here's a preview of the finished product:
First I created some printable tags and used my 1.5" scallop punch to cut out their shapes:
Here are the FREE printables for your own use. Just click on the image below to enlarge and save to your computer then add your own text and just click print!
I bought these handkerchiefs, train whistles, and sheriff stars from Oriental Trading. I wanted to make them into little treat pouches, so I folded a handkerchief in half to make a triangle then halfed it again. I then placed the whistle and star on top positioned as pictured below:
Lastly, I took the 2 ends and tied them together in the middle to make a little pouch:
Since the edges were off I wanted to cover the rim of the sign so I had this ribbon also in my scrap drawer and hot glued it along the sides. I also went over the contact paper a few times with some chalk and wiped it off to give it that chalkboard type look.My mom had brought me this great old wooden box to use for the party so I decided to make it my goodie bag box. I just folded over the metal hanger and placed the edge of the box b/w 2 coils so it would hold the sign onto the box.
Here it is all together:
I also put all the drink labels on bottles of rootbeer and cream soda. I attached the striped straws with some red washi tape. I bought the vintage wooden box from Eziba which is great for an added element of the "general store" theme but also makes it easier to transport the drinks to the party.

The hearing is Tuesday so I had to overnight a shutterfly family photo album to the caseworker where he is. The agency representatives of all of the selected families will discuss and decide which one would be the best fit for this particular child. For more info on matched adoption you can click HERE to be redirected to my post on this subject.
Matched adoption is hard. If you want a young child it's a long wait and can be heartbreaking when your family is not selected BUT it's basically FREE which is awesome and in the state of TX a child adopted through CPS will receive paid college and even paid medical school/dental school/trade school, etc. So in our case it's a no brainer. Please keep us in your prayers and I'll let you guys know what happens.

First we went to Holland Park Lake:
Shortly after seeing this turtle Ezra tried to pick it up and dropped it on accident.
He then told me:
"He's okay Mom.
He told me what's wrong.
I didn't break him.
We don't tackle turtles."
We then went to the Malt Shop in Weatherford. It's just an old dive that plays 50's music and has amazing malts and shakes.
Then we headed home and I was greeted by this:
Our dog Herman has horrible seperation anxiety if he feels trapped. Well I am obsessive about keeping the doors open when we leave just in case Herman is asleep somewhere. Ezra on the other hand is obsessive about keeping the doors closed and I suppose he'd closed the bedroom door before we left.
This is the FOURTH time Herman has done this. The second time in this house when he got closed in our closet and the other times in different houses.
And for his final "F-You", he left me this little present in our closet.
I saw this turtle in the water and when she didn't budge when I tried to feed her I thought
I'd just pick her up. The vet in me couldn't resist b/c she only had one from leg and I wanted to check it out.
Ezra also had his first proper ice cream cone:
