Bummed out...

So I couldn't sleep last night b/c I knew that our selection hearing for the 1 year old boy was going to be today. I just heard from our adoption agency rep that we were not selected. We're the "runner up" family in case the family they selected decided not to follow through with his adoption but that almost never happens. So now we go back on the list and wait some more. The worst part is not knowing why they choose the families they do. I know the goal is to find a family for the child and NOT a child for a family which I absolutely agree with but it doesn't make it any easier to swallow.
